About Mixed Medium Art

“I hope you’re not planning on art as a major!”

Although I don’t remember the professor’s name, 40 years later, those words still ring in my ears.

Even back then, I never had aspirations of being a successful artist, but I loved art.Patricia Everheart

My first trip to an art exhibit was thanks to my Aunt Frances. I was probably in junior high school. She took me to an art exhibit in Baltimore somewhere near John’s Hopkins University and I got to see Van Gogh up close, very close. Sunflowers and Starry Night, the thickness of the paint it was superb! A few years later came the National Art Gallery in Washington DC where I got to see the Mona Lisa with the rest of my French class. Much closer than anyone can get today in the Louvre. I loved art then and still do.

Now I live in a rural part of Western Washington, the state this time. Our area was fortunate enough to have a small art center and a teacher who moved here from South Africa – Ricky Burnett. I did not start taking lessons immediately. It was a few years before I ventured out to try, those infamous words still haunting me. This time I found encouragement and critiquing, not only from Ricky but from the other students. There I formed new friendships with many very talented artists.

It was shortly after Christmas 2007 that I was blessed with a gift of an idea from the universe – an online art gallery. Not that there already weren’t online art galleries but this one was for artists from the Pacific Northwest. This gallery was for all types of mediums. My love for art was transformed into a dream whereby original art of all types and sizes could be offered for sale. Thus Mixed Medium Art was born.

At Mixed Medium Art, the goal is to bring talented artists and their works to a wide audience of art connoisseurs interested in owning original works of art. Why buy art from an impersonal gallery or buy mass produced reproductions when you can buy affordable original works of art or signed limited edition prints? Have fun searching for that original piece to hang in your home, your office or buy art as an unexpected, yet affordable gift for someone special. I want your experience shopping for original works of art to be enjoyable.

Bunny Slippers

In fact, at Mixed Medium Art, the art customer – that’s you - can shop with a cup of coffee in one hand and your other hand on the mouse and no one knows if you still have your bunny slippers on!
